比利時動物園給金絲猴辦百天宴，太有排面了……

這是我來歐洲以后，參加過的最高端的百天宴了。來賓陸陸續續落座，上午十一點不到，這片湖邊空地上已經聚集了小一百號人；中國駐比利時大使費勝潮來了，駐歐盟使團公使朱京來了，布呂熱萊特市長Isabelle Liégeois夫人來了，甚至陜西省林業局都不遠萬里派出陳寶林副局長來捧個場。

在小小的比利時華人圈，這是夢幻般的頂尖排面。

給兩位金絲猴寶寶來走個面的大人們……

以及小朋友們。

這個排面屬于兩位剛滿百天的金絲猴寶寶。這兩個家伙個頭小但來頭不小，它們的一位爸爸兩位媽媽是去年5月份來到比利時的，來的時候分別是5、7、8歲，也就是剛成年的水平，還青澀得很。

所以大使在演講中，提到這位新晉的金絲猴爸爸流云，語氣充滿了憐愛：“去年我們剛剛見到的調皮的大男孩，不管他喜不喜歡，現在已經進入到有老婆有孩子的家庭生活。”

All of those in attendance were there for two baby golden snub-nosed monkeys that were just 100 days old – an age that turns a newborn into a baby, and symbolizes greater strength and independence in Chinese tradition.

The two stars of the day, however, seemed blissfully unaware of their celebrity status.

One baby clung tightly to its mother Lu Lu, occasionally stretching out a tiny hand to touch leaves hanging nearby. The other hid behind another female, Juan Juan, peeking curiously at the crowd before disappearing again.

It was last May that three golden snub-nosed monkeys arrived in Belgium from China's Qinling National Park. Being 5, 4, and 7 years old respectively, they were little more than awkward young adults by golden snub-nosed monkey standards.

And that made the ambassador's joke during the ceremony all the more amusing.

"We met this naughty young boy just last year," he said with a smile. "Now, whether he likes it or not, he has entered family life with wives and children."

觀眾席先是爆發出一陣笑聲，緊跟著是一陣掌聲。不知道是受到大使的點化還是大家掌聲的鼓舞，新近當爹的流云從猴窩里跑出來，在吊橋上拿了個大頂。

The audience burst into laughter and applause.

Perhaps encouraged by the joke and the reaction, Liuyun rushed out of the indoor shelter, climbed onto the suspended rope bridge, and performed what looked suspiciously like a gymnastic routine.

One day, perhaps, he may discover that having two wives and two babies is not quite as glamorous as it sounds.

再造一個秦嶺

這兩只金絲猴寶寶排場大，那是必然的，因為實在太稀有了。

金絲猴作為我國的一級保護動物，本來就十分稀有，其中種群最多的川金絲猴也不過2.6萬只，跟歐洲一個小鎮的人口差不多；其他四種金絲猴亞種個體數更是低到幾千只甚至幾百只，一個小區甚至一個居民樓就裝下了。少了當然想著多生，金絲猴的繁育始終是國內研究的重點。

Behind the laughter, however, lies one of China's most ambitious wildlife conservation projects overseas.

Golden snub-nosed monkeys are among China's rarest primates, as even the largest sub-species among them, the Qinling one, has only about 26,000 individuals. All the other four subspecies count in the single-digit thousands, or even the hundreds.

Their breeding has challenged zoologists for decades because of their complex social structure and demanding environmental requirements, which demand proper temperature, humidity, and adequate places for them to climb and explore.

金絲猴的英語叫"Golden snub-nosed monkey"，注意它塌陷的鼻梁，那是金絲猴的決定性特征。

比利時天堂動物園就是人工繁育研究的合作方。這里地處比利時偏南一點，氣候相對溫和，可以說很適合金絲猴這種到處攀爬的生靈。

為了歡迎金絲猴的入住，天堂動物園特意辟出一塊園區進行了改造，挖出一條約8米寬的水道，水道周圍是植被、巖石和遮蔽空間，還安置了大量樹干、繩索和攀爬結構，不同高度區域則通過空中步道連接起來。這五只金絲猴的家面積就達到600平米，猴均居住面積120平米。

而且金絲猴園區選址巧妙，旁邊就是中國園林，里邊住著大熊貓。金絲猴天天看著黑白配色的鄰居應該不會太想家。

The Pairi Daiza zoo has spent months recreating something in Belgium that is remarkably close to their home in the Qinling Mountains.

The enclosure, or more properly a garden, is the size of a 600-square-meter villa.

Streams flow through rocks and dense vegetation. Elevated walkways connect different levels of the habitat. Wooden platforms, climbing structures, and countless tree trunks encourage the monkeys to spend most of their time above the ground, exactly as they would in the wild.

Standing there, it became surprisingly easy for me to forget I was in Belgium and imagine I was somewhere deep inside western China.

金絲猴在比利時的居住環境，很有中式風味了

如此誠意滿滿，也難怪2024年12月中國野生動物保護協會與天堂動物園一口氣簽下十年協議，合作開展金絲猴的境外人工繁育實驗。然后就有了三只金絲猴2025年5月抵達比利時的故事，以及今年兩位新猴寶的誕生。

迄今為止，這也是秦嶺金絲猴唯一公開的境外合作繁育項目。金絲猴的繁育本就不易，公母數量要搭配好，光照、氣溫和食物供應要協調好，季節規律也要提前適應好。三只金絲猴出國一年之內，竟然接連產下兩胎，足以證明動物園對它們的照顧很細致入微了。

按照協議，兩只出生在比利時的猴寶依然是中國籍，在這里生活到5歲就要返回中國。照目前這個速率下去，這期間又會出生多少留洋的金絲猴寶寶，就更令人期待了。

That is perhaps why, in December 2024, the China Wildlife Conservation Association signed a 10-year cooperation agreement with Pairi Daiza, to establish the first publicly known overseas breeding program for Qinling golden snub-nosed monkeys. Three monkeys arrived in Belgium in May 2025.

Barely 11 months later, two healthy babies were born, which says much about the dedication of both Chinese and Belgian experts, who have cared for the baby monkeys as if they were their own.

老兄，分根薯條吃啊

包括金絲猴在內，天堂動物園里的動物們還是比較享福的。

比如這里很多動物都有跟人接觸的機會。一般來說，即使在野生動物園里，人和動物也是基本上不可能零距離接觸的，會有各種各樣在暗處的鐵絲網和壕溝把雙方物理隔開，這樣也把所有可能的沖突與爭斗、冒犯與打擾都隔開。

天堂動物園則是選擇性地隔開。來自非洲的獅子和原產于北極的白熊當然要隔開，攻擊性太強；老家在南極的企鵝和只能生活在水里的海豚也要隔開，人類受不了它們的地方。但小鴨子小鳥就可以不隔開，游客們一邊吃飯它們一邊在人身邊轉，游客們吃得也開心，它們無拘無束玩得也開心，雙贏！

爸爸和閨女野餐，鵝翹首盼著投喂

Walking through the zoo after the ceremony, I noticed ducks wandering freely among visitors eating lunch. Children sat only a few meters away while the birds calmly searched for crumbs beneath picnic tables. In another enclosure, a troop of monkeys occupied a vast landscape complete with cliffs, waterfalls, and islands separated by moats. The great apes lived beneath enormous glass roofs filled with climbing towers that many human children might envy.

It was obvious that the philosophy extended beyond displaying animals. The goal seemed to be to allow them to behave as naturally as possible, while encouraging people to slow down and observe them with respect.

即使是那些被關起來不能與人接觸的動物，生活空間也是令人羨慕的。下邊這張圖是別的猴子的居住環境，里邊有假山，假山周圍有圈護城河，還做了個水簾洞。

以及大猩猩們住的這個地方，有著透光的天窗和復雜的爬梯設計，隔壁小孩看到都要饞哭了……

來給金絲猴寶寶走個面的貴賓們，參加完典禮也去周圍看了看。給我留下印象最深的，還是費大使說的一句話：“人和自然的關系不需要聽什么大道理。我們只需要走進大自然，或者我們時不時來一下動物園，我們可以更好地感受到人和自然的關系。”

大使和天堂動物園創辦人、院長éric Domb最終揭牌，給兩只新猴寶起的名字分別叫“珍珍”和“喜樂”。某種意義上，這恰恰是費大使那句話最好的注腳：珍愛生命，平安喜樂自然就來了。

Near the end, the ambassador offered a reflection that stayed with me.

"We don't always need grand theories to understand the relationship between humanity and nature," Fei said. "Sometimes all we need is to walk into nature, or simply visit a zoo, and we begin to appreciate that relationship."

Soon after, he and Pairi Daiza founder Eric Domb announced the names of the two babies. They are to be known as Zhenzhen and Xile, which mean "cherish" and "joy", names that seem to carry the sincere wishes of their parents, as well as all of those who care about them.
