7月6日，據金山辦公消息，針對近期有關“WPS濫收費背刺用戶”的不實言論，金山辦公鄭重聲明：一、免費基礎功能絕不收費、不降級；二、會員權益絕不上移、不縮水；三、高成本服務獨立計費按需購買。
此前話題“被WPS背刺了”登上微博熱搜，大量用戶吐槽WPS在使用過程中出現系統卡頓、默認緩存文檔丟失、會員功能分區不明晰等多個問題。
