卸任英國首相數小時后，斯塔默現身酒吧

據英國《鏡報》等21日報道，在正式卸任英國首相數小時后，斯塔默被拍到在倫敦北部一家酒吧舉杯暢飲，英國前財政大臣里夫斯等人在場。

Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves were spotted at a pub with drinks in hand just hours they left Downing Street.

The former prime minister and chancellor rocked up to The Grafton pub in Kentish Town, north London while Ex-Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham put together his Cabinet.

英媒拍到的照片顯示，斯塔默穿著運動鞋，手里舉著一杯啤酒，倚著門打電話。里夫斯則舉著葡萄酒杯，與他人有說有笑。她在社交媒體上發文感謝任職經歷，并祝愿繼任者以及新首相伯納姆“一切順利”。

Just hours before he left Downing Street, Starmer said his "work is done". He later added: "I go with a smile and I go proud of everything that we have achieved."

工黨在今年5月的地方選舉中遭遇重挫后，黨內要求斯塔默辭職的呼聲不斷高漲。隨著被工黨內部普遍看好的伯納姆贏得議會補選席位，面對不斷加大的壓力，斯塔默最終宣布辭職。

Starmer announced he was quitting as Labour leader on June 22 after barely two years in power, ending a tenure marred by a series of political missteps — most notably his decision to appoint a man with close ties to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as Britain's ambassador to the United States.

Heavy losses suffered by Labour in a midterm set of local elections in May prompted many lawmakers to demand Starmer's resignation. And when Burnham — favored by many within Labour to lead the party and the country — won a special election for a seat in Parliament, Starmer gave in to the mounting pressure to quit.

根據工黨黨內規則，獲得五分之一的工黨下議院議員支持即可挑戰黨首。斯塔默辭職后，工黨隨即啟動黨首選舉。由于除伯納姆外無人參選，且其順利獲得所需支持，最終伯納姆當選工黨黨首，并接任英國首相。

His resignation automatically triggered a Labour leadership contest. Under Labour rules, a lawmaker can challenge the leader if they have the backing of a fifth of the party's House of Commons lawmakers. There was no contestant other than Burnham, who comfortably surpassed that threshold.
