當地時間7月17日，巴西總統盧拉在活動中表示，絕不接受任何其他國家不尊重巴西的行為。同時，針對美國與巴西之間的關稅問題，盧拉表示，要等美國總統特朗普先表態，巴西才會回應。他表示，“對巴西撒謊是行不通的”，美國不能靠謊言“愚弄巴西社會”。
