格雷厄姆猝死，死因披露

據美國媒體報道，圍繞猝死的美國共和黨參議員林賽·格雷厄姆（Lindsey Graham）的死因，其發言人當地時間7月12日下午表示，據法醫部門的初步調查結果，格雷厄姆的死因為“動脈粥樣硬化性心血管疾病引發主動脈夾層”。法醫部門表示，毒理學和微觀病理檢查尚未最終完成。

據介紹，主動脈夾層是一種危及生命的急癥，表現為主動脈血管壁撕裂。

US Senator Lindsey Graham died after a tear in his aorta, according to a preliminary medical examiner finding shared by his office.

The tear in the inner wall of the aorta, called an aortic dissection, was related to the hardening of Graham’s arteries. An official cause of death will be disclosed after toxicological and microscopic testing.

據此前報道，當地時間7月12日，美國南卡羅來納州共和黨籍聯邦參議員林賽·格雷厄姆的辦公室，在其官方X賬號發布聲明稱，格雷厄姆因突發急病，于當地時間7月11日晚去世，終年71歲。

Graham, a prominent South Carolina Republican and former Air Force lawyer who served in Congress for more than three decades, had turned 71 years old just two days before dying on Saturday night. His office had originally said he had suffered from a "brief and sudden illness".

美國全國廣播公司（NBC）報道稱，據該媒體獲得的警方無線電錄音顯示，7月11晚間，緊急救援人員接到報警稱，格雷厄姆在家中發生“心臟驟停”。NBC獲得的照片顯示，醫護人員用擔架將一名傷者從格雷厄姆家中抬到等候的救護車上，警車和消防車也趕到了現場。

格雷厄姆此前剛剛結束對烏克蘭首都基輔的訪問，他于7月10日會見了烏克蘭總統澤連斯基。

美國總統特朗普稱，他當晚與從烏克蘭回國的格雷厄姆通了電話，對方“顯得有些疲憊”。

被稱“最吵鬧的戰爭販子” 曾鼓吹對伊朗開戰

格雷厄姆1955年生于南卡羅來納州，法律專業出身，曾在美國空軍法務部門服役，1994年首次當選聯邦眾議員，2002年首次當選聯邦參議員，去世前擔任聯邦參議院預算委員會主席這一重要職位。

格雷厄姆被視為美國總統特朗普的鐵桿盟友。不過，他在2015年參與角逐2016年總統選舉黨內提名時，曾痛罵同為競選人的特朗普是“煽動種族仇恨、排外且具有宗教偏執的狂熱分子”。但在特朗普首次當選后，他轉而成為特朗普“最親近的國會盟友之一”，常在公開場合為特朗普的政策立場辯護。

Graham, chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, was widely recognized as one of the most prominent and influential voices within the Republican Party on defense and foreign policy. He repeatedly pushed for aggressive US military actions abroad, maintaining a hawkish stance on Iran and vigorously defending the war.

Graham was elected to the US Senate in 2002 and was re-elected in 2008, 2014 and 2020. He formally ran against Trump for the Republican presidential nomination in 2015, but once Trump won the presidency in 2016, he underwent a massive political pivot and started backing the president. In the following years, Graham became one of Trump's most loyal defenders and closest confidants.
