7月27日，伊朗外交部發言人巴加埃在例行記者會上表示，目前伊朗與阿曼正就霍爾木茲海峽問題展開會談，會談“與美國無關”，伊朗沒有與美國進行任何談判。他強調，伊朗絕對不會允許由美國來決定何時戰、何時止——不過，只要伊朗認為外交手段能夠維護國家利益，就一定會運用外交手段。
